Leave it to the Germans to take something as 'simple' as tires and turn it into a science. At Schwalbe, designers study every conceivable aspect of performance to develop tires that perform at the absolute peak of performance in their specific application. The folks at Schwalbe aren't just looking out for cyclists, though. They started a tire recycling program in 1993. Recognizing the problem of disposing of 10 million bicycle tires a year in Germany alone, Schwalbe developed a system to separate the components of a tire into its raw materials for reuse.
