Chilly Duathlon

Chilly Duathlon

The Chilly Duathlon, our annual season ending event at Castle Combe race circuit in Wiltshire. This is a little taster of what the event is about.

The DB Max/Proto Col Chilly Duathlon has grown in popularity over the last few years from about 150 people when we first raced it and attended it as a store to now where the whole day welcomes over 2000 competitors for the 10k, Standard Duathlon or the British Universities Duathlon Championships. It is a superb season closer with folks of all ages and abilities taking to the closed racing circuit for the 2 mile/10 mile/2 mile duathlon or the 10km run.

We have a stand there most years as sponsor of the events and we tend to have most of our staff racing so it is a fun day all round. This autumn we had 2 relay teams, 2 individual athletes in the standard and also a competitor in the BUCS (university) race.

The relay was a fast and hard fought affair with our 2 teams coming in 1st and 3rd respectively. Some super quick running and cycling posted some really impressive times. Robin and Jenny in the individual both smashed their previous bests which was brilliant and sets them both up well for next season. Alex was the stand out in the super competitive BUCS race, coming 3rd in a shade over 42 minutes. A staggering time considering he is in his final year of a medicine degree.

Take a look at a short video we put together of the day - surely it is on your race calendar for next year?

It was a wonderful day with great conditions, a good crowd, some top notch racing and as ever DB Max put on a great show for the whole of the event day. Thanks to all who came and said Hi, see you next time!
